Things to Keep in Mind When Booking
Weather
Weather conditions are a critical factor for viewing. While Colorado enjoys approximately 300 sunny days per year, cloud cover can still affect visibility. If your scheduled tour day is cloudy or rainy, you may choose to receive a full refund or rebook for another date.
Colorado Cosmic Tours will make the final decision regarding weather-related cancellations. We will do our best to notify you as early as possible.
Temperature
Nighttime temperatures—especially during winter—can be extremely cold. Dressing warmly is essential. Please plan to wear clothing suitable for temperatures at least 20°F below the forecasted temperature. Heated vests, hats, gloves, and snow pants will significantly improve comfort.
At some locations, a warming tent may be available, and we will also provide hot chocolate and tea.
Time & Location
Tours begin around sunset and last approximately two hours. Our stargazing tours take place at several carefully selected locations near Denver, chosen based on the time of year and availability. These include Chatfield State Park, Cherry Creek State Park, and Lookout Mountain, each offering excellent viewing conditions and stunning scenery.
